Second Annual Interoperability Network Enhances Software, Includes CIS/2 Discussions
Over 150 SDS/2 software users met face to face with development partners and Design Data programmers at the 2009 Interoperability Network (IN) to resolve existing issues and enhance future development. IN was held September 30 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
In addition to returning IN partners — including Peddinghaus, RISA and Shop Data Systems — several new development partners took part in the event. Radley, AceCAD and Tracer Software were among them.
One of the highlights of this year's IN actually took place before the event. At a meeting held on Wednesday morning, substantial progress was made on shaping the future of the CIS/2 format. With the support of software developers, the industry as a whole should now gain traction on furthering CIS/2.
The 2010 IN development session will be held on October 20. The format will be similar, with the exception of a two- to three-hour block of time set aside that morning for developer meetings. This will allow our IN partners to have development discussions among themselves prior to the face-to-face meetings with software users.
