Robert Lipman, Mark Mosher Headline Interoperability NetworkJuly 21, 2008
The Interoperability Network — being held October 15 at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln, Nebraska — will feature keynote speakers Robert Lipman and Mark Mosher.
Lipman, a senior research engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is one of the leading voices in interoperability for the steel construction industry. An expert in BIM and CIS/2, Lipman is currently conducting research related to making software systems more interoperable.
"Interoperability between software products is a key component of efficient project delivery and for increasing construction productivity. With an increasing focus of BIM, it is important the users educate themselves as to what is actually happening when software products exchange information so that their expectations are met," Lipman said.
Mosher is a managing partner of the eSteel Design-Build Group, an LLC that has developed a digital process that links structural engineering, detailing, fabrication and erection. His primary role has been to manage the day-to-day operations of AmFab, Inc. and dtl's, Inc. Mosher has served in an advisory capacity for numerous steel fabricators as well as the American Institute of Steel Construction.
