SDS/2 Customer Douglas Steel Celebrates 60 YearsAugust 8, 2012
Douglas Reniger and Paul Gillett founded Douglas Steel in 1952. The original 11,000-square-foot facility was built in Lansing, Michigan, and the company upgraded to a 25,000-square-foot facility in west Lansing in 1959.
Douglas Steel’s building experience includes civic arenas, schools, government buildings, shopping malls, factories, industrial tanks, conveying equipment, hospitals, airport terminals, and more. The company also worked with the Michigan Department of Transportation to expand the state highway network with steel bridges.
SDS/2 customer Douglas Steel is now an AISC-certified fabricator and erector. Now, with more than 50,000 square feet of fabrication space, the company is also one of the largest fabricators in the state of Michigan.
We’d like to wish this SDS/2 customer a happy 60th birthday, and many more to come! For more information about Douglas Steel, visit douglassteel.com. Douglas Steel is also participating in AISC's SteelDay with a tour of the facilities! Learn more about the event here.
