Design Data Makes Splash at NASCC With New Solutions

At the 2011 NASCC Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, conference attendees got a glimpse at the future of SDS/2, as new software solutions were unveiled. The solutions -- part of an overall rebranding that includes a revamped Web site -- feature products tailored to key professions involved in the BIM work process.

Conference attendees also received demonstrations of SDS/2 Mobile, a new product that allows SDS/2 users with Android smartphones or tablet computers to keep up to date on member status.

The consensus highlight of NASCC was the premiere of SDS/2 Connect, a plug-in that enables users to create SDS/2-designed connections inside of Autodesk® Revit® Structure. Users can also seamlessly transfer that data between SDS/2 and Revit.

Design Data salesperson Michelle McCarthy was a featured speaker at a session titled Improving the Shop Drawing Review Process, which focused on the specific ways companies can use enhanced technology to improve the quality of their shop drawing review.
