SDS/2 Connect Now Available

Design Data's SDS/2 Connect — an add-in to Autodesk® Revit® Structure that automatically designs connections within the Revit environment — is now available for purchase and download.

SDS/2 Connect enables structural engineers using Revit Structure for BIM to intelligently design steel connections and produce detailed documentation on those connections. SDS/2 Connect is the only product that enables structural engineers to design and communicate steel connections based on their Revit Structure design model as an active part of the fabrication process. Bridging this information gap between design and fabrication shortens timelines, enhances project communication and ultimately lowers project costs.

"This product is truly a game changer for the AEC industry," said Design Data President Damon Scaggs. "Combining our expertise in steelwork connection design and fabrication technology with Autodesk's BIM platform provides engineers functionality that will help save time and increase quality in creating more accurate BIM Models."

Design Data is offering users the opportunity to try SDS/2 Connect free for 30 days. This fully functional version of the software enables users to get the full scope of the capabilities of SDS/2 Connect: connection design, roundtripping and more.

Autodesk University

McCarthy, Evans Present at Autodesk University; Design Data Exhibits

More than 8,000 users were in attendance for the annual Autodesk University, held this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 29 - December 1.

In addition to debuting SDS/2 Connect, Design Data's Michelle McCarthy and Doug Evans also held a class titled Using Autodesk® Revit® Structure for Both Steel Connection Design and Driving BIM Models to Fabrication.

The class focused on the connection design capabilities now available in Autodesk Revit Structure for creating more valuable, as-built models.
