The FIRETEX Design Estimator (FDE) plugin seamlessly synchronizes fire protection properties between the SDS2 and FDE applications to accurately import IFRM thicknesses and quantities for a wide range of structural steel profiles using FIRETEX products. Vadivelu Balasankar (Velu) is a Mechanical Engineer based out of Toronto, Canada, and currently working as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer at Sherwin-Williams Canada Inc. He is primarily responsible for promoting FIRETEX products and preparing fire-protection reports based on simple and complex calculations, as well as inputs from Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Velu is a Chartered Engineer (India), holds membership in The Institution of Engineers (India), and is a professional member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). He has more than 14 years of experience in the structural steel fire protection industry.
